Close Friends, a pair of Parrot`s, after Heinrich Hahnel, German sculptor 1823-1909 

Hahnel worked in Dresden, in the renowned china company as well as making privately commissioned work, his detailed animals were considered amongst the best.

He was renowned for his idiosyncratic technique which allowed for super-realistic reproduction of animal’s fur and birds feathers in sculpture.

His finest works were reproduced in fine bronze and much sort after by collectors today.

This pair of parrots are full of life, with fine crisp detail throughout.
