Un vase Grand Tour en marbre à larges bords, avec des poignées entrelacées détaillées sur les côtés, orné de têtes sculptées de dieux romains et détaillé de vignes et de raisins autour du bord.
Le vase Warwick original est une ancienne œuvre romaine en marbre Vase (partiellement restauré), découvert dans la villa d'Hadrien , Trivoli, vers 1771 par Gavin Hamilton, un Écossais peintre-antiquaire et marchand d'art à Rome.
Le vase a été trouvé dans le limon d'un étang marécageux au point bas du vaste terrain de la villa, où Hamilton avait obtenu les droits d'excavation et procédé au drainage de la zone. Hamilton a vendu les fragments à Sir William Hamilton , britannique envoyé à la cour de Naples, dont la célèbre collection passa à son neveu George Greville, 2e comte de Warwick où elle fit sensation, après avoir été installée dans le parc du château de Warwick.

I was disappointed when I received the Warwick Vase.
Although the overall shape and the handles are very good, the sculptural decoration around the body of the vase is not an accurate representation of the original Warwick Vase. From the photographs on your website, I initially thought I was looking at the reverse side of the vase, but having examined it I found that the same arrangement of faces has simply been repeated on both sides.
Your product description states:
"This Grand Tour collectable faithfully reproduces its magnificent form."
and
"This reproduction captures every element of the original's extraordinary ornamentation."
Having compared your reproduction with the original Warwick Vase, I do not believe these statements are accurate. While the general form is well reproduced, the decorative masks and heads are significantly simplified and do not correspond to the original sculpture.
As someone who has spent considerable time researching the Warwick Vase and its influence on historic silver trophies, I noticed the differences immediately. I therefore suggest that you revise the product description so that it more accurately reflects the item being sold. I am not seeking to return the vase, but I do think the description should be amended so that future purchasers are not led to expect a completely faithful reproduction
