Autumn, after the antique by Carrier Belleuse, French 1850.

This stunning large marble statue is after one of the four Renaissance antique statues of Rome. The first reproduction sculpture was made for the Great Exhibition of 1851 Crystal Palace, by Carrier Belleuse, who was a French artist, who worked in Staffordshire, England, and then later at Sevres porcelain, France, where his studio assistant was Auguste Rodin.
