The Piranesi Vase.

Piranesi was born in 1720 in the Republic of Venice. His brother introduced him to the ancient Roman civilisation and from 1740 he studied in Rome under Giuseppe Vasi who taught him the art of etching and engraving. In 1748–1774 he created a long series of views (Vedute) of the city which established his fame and for which he continued to produce plates for the series until the year of his death in 1778.

Inspired by the grandeur of classical antiquity, the Piranesi Vase is a commanding decorative piece sculpted in white Carrara marble. Its form draws from the architectural imagination of Giovanni Battista Piranesi, echoing the ornate splendour of ancient Roman design. Richly adorned with intricate relief carvings — including floral motifs, scrollwork, and symmetrical patterns — the vase offers a striking blend of sculptural depth and ornamental finesse.

Crafted in our Carrara marble, the vase’s bold proportions and elaborate detailing make it an ideal centrepiece for grand interiors, classical gardens, or curated collections where historical resonance and artistic craftsmanship are prized.

The vase lid is made separate, with the internal of the vase being hollow.
